Abstract:

My name is Cristina Alexandra Araújo, and I am a biology major in Antillean Adventist University in Puerto Rico. I have had the opportunity to volunteer in a fisheries laboratory, was an intern studying triple-negative breast cancer, and am currently an intern studying coral reefs of the Pacific Ocean. When I graduate with my bachelor’s degree, I would like to continue my studies and complete a PhD in biomedical sciences. For my career, I would like to integrate marine biology and biomedical sciences to find novel cures for rare diseases using powerful molecular compounds found in marine organisms.
