2017 Maryland Shellfish Aquaculture Industry Roundtable Workshop

Local Maryland shellfish growers were invited to participate in a two-part workshop series as part of Maryland Sea Grant's continuing efforts to engage with and support the aquaculture industry.

Goals of the Workshop

  • To identify, via industry input, priority problems in the Maryland aquaculture industry.
  • To identify research-based solutions to address these problems. 
  • To identify key questions around priority problems that research can help address.
  • To gather information related to these issues in order to bring it to scientists who want to help craft solutions.

The workshop included facilitator presentations, table discussions, full group discussions, and voting surveys to determine the top priority issues.  For additional information on the structure of the workshop, please review our agenda.
