Purpose:

The Woodland Incentive Program supports maintenance and reforestation for wind and soil erosion, enhanced water quality, wildlife habitat, and an increased timber production.

Support Type:

Funding Assistance

Available Funding:

Cost-sharing up to 65% for timber stand improvement, tree planting and preparation for natural regeneration.

Funding Range:

$50 to $10,000 per year, $1,600 avg.

Restoration Activity:

Tree planting, timber stand improvements, and related practices on private forestlands.

Eligibility:

Private landowners with non-industrial forests; must be between 10 and 1,000 acres of eligible forestland or land that is suitable for conversion from cropland, reforestation or improved forest management and capable of producing marketable timber crops.
