Managed through the MD DNR Wildlife and Heritage Division, this tax incentive program seeks to increase and improve wetlands and waterfowl habitat on private lands.

Available Funding:

Expenditures made for projects are considered a contribution to the State of Maryland and used as tax deductions. A form for tax purposes is presented each year following the inspection of the project.

Waterfowl Habitat


Private landowners. The project area must be on a minimum of 10 contiguous acres of habitat and contain at least one acre of semi-permanent water. Hunting grounds are not permitted.
