Welcome to Fellowship Experiences

Maryland Sea Grant is excited to introduce its newest outlet for sharing stories about our science and education activities – Fellowship Experiences: A Maryland Sea Grant Student Blog. Through this blog, we invite all of the students we support to write about current ongoing projects, fellowship experiences, science outreach or engagement events, musings about graduate student life, career choices, preparing for a major talk, and other topics relevant to their educational experience. We hope that it will provide an outlet for our students to hone their communication skills, practice discussing their work with a variety of audiences, and bring positive attention to their scientific efforts and student experiences.

For our students, we invite you to check out our Guidance to Contributors. There you will find information about style and format, submitting written and video contributions, as well as how to get editorial feedback to improve your writing skills and blog presentation.

So please join the conversation as our fellows share their research, education, and policy experiences.  You can subscribe to our posts by clicking on the RSS feed at the top of our blog or share individual entries on Facebook or Twitter. Also, please feel free to contact us at blog@mdsg.umd.edu. We welcome your input!
