This video captures the voices of students, teachers, planners and scientists as they consider the fate of the Chesapeake Bay. The half-hour production draws from work undertaken by a team of technical experts tasked with looking ahead to the year 2030. The team, part of the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) first produced an in-depth report entitled Chesapeake Futures. In the report, they peer into the future to look at three possible scenarios for the Bay, depending on the choices we make now, at the dawn of the new millennium. Drawing from the report, STAC and Maryland Public Television produced this video for broadcast. An excellent tool for use by teachers, environmentalists, and others concerned about restoring the Chesapeake Bay and its resources, the video is now available on DVD. |
