The 2007 career panel was held at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center

Want to explore career opportunities for science majors? Want to learn how to network effectively? Want to discuss whether you should go right to graduate school after your bachelor's degree? The Maryland Sea Grant career panel addresses these questions and many more, presenting REU students with a range of career possibilities in academia and non-academic arenas.

At the panel discussion, employers and former students talk about what they do, how they got there, and what opportunities might be available to undergraduates and graduates in their field. Panelists always have great tips about what to do and not to do to land that first job, interview or graduate school position. If you don't think networking is important, you will after this discussion! Students will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions of the panel and will eat lunch together afterward.
