Regional Sea Grant Research
The Delaware, Maryland and Virginia Sea Grant Programs are jointly interested in coordinated research efforts that bring together researchers in all three states to address specific issues of regional priority that transcend state Sea Grant boundaries. Research teams are requested to contact their respective Sea Grant Program directors to discuss ideas and regional connections prior to submitting a preproposal. Because funding is limited, we anticipate being able to fund only one regional effort for the 2012-2014 biennium. We are interested in regional proposals that address the following issues in the Coastal Bays: (1) offshore energy development; (2) land use decisions and water quality impacts; and (3) socioeconomic processes and impacts.
Mandatory Early Registration with Maryland Sea Grant
PIs planning to submit a proposal are required to use the Maryland Sea Grant online project summary form, budget form and budget justification form worksheets. To register with the system, please request an account from (research@mdsg.umd.edu; 301-405-7500) to obtain an account to use our online proposal worksheets. This must be done well in advance of the date for proposal submission to ensure you have time to complete the entire application package. If you have already registered for the system when you submitted your preproposal, you may use the same information to access these worksheets for the full proposal.
Full Proposal Submission
Preproposals that are invited forward to full proposal are required to submit a single full proposal that describes the regional work to be completed by PIs from Delaware, Maryland and Virginia to Delaware Sea Grant following Delaware Sea Grant’s guidelines and procedures for proposal submission. Full proposals are due June 30, 2011 by 5 p.m. to Delaware Sea Grant. For more details go to the Delaware Sea Grant program’s website: http://www.deseagrant.org/RFP.
