Menhaden Species Team

Maryland Sea Grant solicited nominations for members to serve on the Menhaden Species Team from managers, academics, and stakeholders in the Chesapeake Bay region.  Following is a list of members of the Menhaden Species Team.  The Menhaden Species Team held its first meeting in early January, 2009 and developed a work plan to produce a series of key ecosystem issue briefs pertinent to Menhaden.  Work on these briefs is complete and the briefs are available as a pdf below. These briefs have been passed to the QETs who will develop the components of the EBFMPs and generate appropriate reference points based on recommendations of the Menhaden Species Team. Maryland Sea Grant will be pursuing a formal publication of these documents and we request that use of the Menhaden Species Team Background and Issue Briefs be limited to the use of the EBFM project for Chesapeake Bay until this formal publication is available.
