 Blue Crab Species Team(click on the Blue Crab to learn more about this species)
Maryland Sea Grant solicited nominations for
members to serve on the Blue Crab Species Team from managers, academics, and
stakeholders in the Chesapeake Bay region. Following is a list of members
of the Blue Crab Team and the Species Support Staff (SSS) for the team, a
PhD-level student whose dissertation research focuses on blue crabs. The
Blue Crab Team held its first meeting in early January, 2009 and completed its
work in April, 2010. The Blue Crab Background and Ecosystem Issue briefs
are now complete and can be viewed via the link below. The QETs are
currently developing research proposals to generate the ecosystem based
reference points required to target the critical ecosystem stressors identified
for blue crabs in this set of documents.
