The Species Teams (STs) work to identify the critical
ecosystem stressors for each of the five key species and articulate these in a
series of background and issue briefs. Compiled, these analyses provide the
essential foundation for the development of performance measures and reference
points by the Quantitative Ecosystem Teams (QETs). Species Team members represent a number of
different communities including academic research scientists, federal and state
agencies, non-governmental organizations, and stake holders based on expertise.
The chairs of each team are members of the Fisheries
Ecosystem Workgroup and coordinate with the Chairs of the Quantitative Ecosystem
Teams (QETs). To date the Striped Bass, Blue Crab, Menhaden and Alosines STs have
completed their work. The Oyster ST will
be populated in mid to late 2011.
