Figure 2. Relative concentrations of carbonic acid, bicarbonate and carbonate as they vary with pH. Alkalinity titrations proceed from around pH 11 and neutralize alkalinity until the endpoint is reahed. The end point using total alkalinity indicator is pH = 4.6 indicated by the dashed line.
