Chesapeake Biological Laboratory
Visitor Center
Manned by over 40 docents, the UMCES Chesapeake Biological Laboratory welcomes over 3400 visitors annually to experience the scientific atmosphere of the Bayside University of Maryland campus, and to take with them a better understanding of the role CBL and Sea Grant play in protecting the Chesapeake Bay through graphical displays, interactive computers, and videos.
Public Seminars Program
Seminars and other education events are hosted throughout the year to engage the local public and the scientific community in conversation and instruction. A minimum of 10 seminars/events are held annually. Recent seminar topics include: "Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Chesapeake Bay: The Good, The Bad and the Really Ugly," and "Restoring the Chesapeake Bay's Rivers and Streams."
