Green eggs and sand logo - horseshoe crab and sandpiper

Looking to infuse a global biodiversity and current real- life resource management challenge into your classroom? Join educators from Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey in the spring of 2003 at Delaware's Aquatic Resources Mallard Lodge on Delaware Bay. Plan to take part in one of two available workshops. Experience the horseshoe crab and shorebird phenomenon first-hand on the beach.

Learn from the experts and receive materials to educate middle and secondary students about the phenomena & issues. By attending one of these workshops you will:

  • Learn from the experts! The workshop features scientists and resource managers presenting their latest research and viewpoints of the management controversy.

  • Join the experts! Take part in the Delaware Bay Horseshoe Crab Spawning Survey, dig for eggs, and scan for shorebirds. Bring boots, flashlight, and binoculars!

  • Become an expert! Receive training from teachers who have developed effective learning modules that are keyed to national standards. Get a wealth of materials to use in your classroom and resources to make these issues come alive for your students!
