The University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute's SciTech Education Program in partnership with the Maryland Sea Grant Program launched a new website that gives comprehensive information about the program and pre-visit materials for each of the labs offered in the State-of the-Art education laboratories located within the

Additionally, there are two new labs:
- Elementary Grade 3-5 program entitled "Looking at Chesapeake Bay" that gives young scientists the opportunity to discover and explore various organisms native and non-native to Chesapeake Bay and learn valuable microscope skills.
- PCR techniques lab for advance HS students to perform PCR and learn the "mechanics" behind the reactions required to make millions of copies of a segment of genetic material.
