TEAM DNR
Teaching Environmental Awareness in Maryland
|
|
TEAM DNR is a volunteer program dedicated to educating elementary and middle school students about the Chesapeake Bay and other natural resource issues in Maryland. Our volunteers come from different backgrounds but all have a strong desire to help students understand and enjoy their natural environment. Their efforts provide an important link between DNR and schools around the state. Since its inception, TEAM DNR volunteers have delivered over 450 classroom programs and have reached more than 14,000 students in Maryland.
During its initial year, TEAM DNR was piloted in Anne Arundel County schools. The program was well received by teachers and students alike. Based on this success and a new influx of volunteers, TEAM DNR has expanded to meet the needs of teachers around the state.
How can you reserve a TEAM DNR classroom program?
TEAM DNR programs are offered to teachers at no cost. Programs are subject to availability of TEAM volunteers. To reserve a program at your school contact Matthew Chasse at 410-260-8828 or email him at mchasse@dnr.state.md.us.
