- October — Meet with Maryland Sea Grant to discuss upcoming fellowship before placement week.
November 14-19 — Placement Week.
December 20 — Submit photo and biographical sketch to Maryland Sea Grant.
December — Meet with Maryland Sea Grant to complete paperwork.

- January 7th — Submit all required paperwork to Maryland Sea Grant.
February 1 — Fellowship starts.

- January 15 — Final Report due to Maryland Sea Grant & NOAA.
January 31 — Fellowship ends.
Knauss Class of
The fellowship process begins in the Fall with the application and, if successful, continues through completion of the one-year fellowship. Important dates in this process are highlighted below.
- November — Maryland Sea Grant announces new Knauss Fellowship application process and begins recruiting student applicants.

— Applications, as complete pdfs, due to Maryland Sea Grant.
March — Candidate interviews at Maryland Sea Grant; finalists selected.
April 1 — Maryland Sea Grant submits up to 6 finalist application packets to National Sea Grant program for their final selection.
May 27 — Selection process and subsequent notification to Sea Grant programs of selected finalists completed.
November or December — Placement Week, Washington DC; all selected Fellows attend.

March — Capitol Hill Knauss reception.
