Eligibility
Any student regardless of citizenship, who on is enrolled in a graduate or professional program in a marine or aquatic-related field at a U.S. accredited institution of higher education in the United States or U.S. Territories may apply. If you are at an accredited institution in Maryland or the District of Columbia or are a resident thereof you must apply for your Knauss Fellowship through Maryland Sea Grant.
Application Process - Maryland Sea Grant
Students applying for a Knauss Fellowship through Maryland Sea Grant must have all of their required materials submitted to Maryland Sea Grant by .
To apply for this program, please complete the online application.
After filling out the online form, the following components must be submitted to complete your application:
- Personal and academic curriculum vitae (not to exceed two pages)
- A personal education and career goal statement (maximum 1000 words) from the applicant emphasizing:
- Applicant's abilities
- Career goals
- Applicant's expectations from the experience for career development
- Relevance of background to seeking a Knauss Fellowship
- Placement preference: Legislative or executive branches of government, or no preference. If seeking one branch in particular, the letter should justify why this is the most beneficial for your experience.
- Listing of classes and/or plans for spring , summer and fall (one page limit)
- Two letters of recommendation:
- One letter must be from the applicant's major professor or, if no major professor exists, then the faculty person most familiar with the applicant's academic work.
- Official copy of all undergraduate and graduate student transcripts.
