Terrapins In The Classroom
Research Projects & Data
Terrapins In The Classroom allows Maryland students to participate in the raising, research, release, and tagging of the state reptile—the diamondback terrapin.
Teaching children about protecting hatchlings, and allowing them to interact with other children who have seen the animals firsthand, will help them connect to conservation needs of the terrapins as well as the entire Chesapeake Bay ecosystem. Find out more about this program by going to http://www.terrapinbook.com/.
The research projects are on-going and data from them will be availble soon. Please check back later.
Use the guide below to view some of the projects and data from Terrapins In The Classroom projects. The terrapin will take you step-by-step to find the project you want to view. You can view projects by species or by school.
