Fish Release Day 1999 At Sandy Point
Photogallery
Striped bass were transported in plastic tubs with aeration to Sandy Point State Park by teachers and
students.
All groups successfully transported their fish traveling from as far away as 2 hrs.

Striped bass were acclimated by performing water changes before being released into the water by students and teachers.
|
Students enjoyed the experience of releasing the stripers into the water and watching them disappear.
In the future we hope to tag fish that are released with Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

|
Students and teachers were able to spend time sharing experiences and comparing "fish stories" while the stripers were acclimating for their release.

Saying goodbye to their science project.

Michael Fincham of Maryland Sea Grant was on-hand to film the event and will work on incorporating the footage into a promotional video about the value of aquaculture as a tool to teach science.
